Just started another altered book
class. We have so much fun with these! Saturday night’s class covered the
basics—how to rip, how to glue (Have I ever mentioned that glue is my
favorite medium?), how to create a recess in a cover, la, la, la. Being an
Entropy Accelerator (a.k.a. a Chaotic Person), however, I did formulate my own
method that works pretty well for me. I always try to create structure for
things—just because I have to—and I realize that
that takes the fun out it for some people, so I made the usual disclaimer: the
most funnest thing about ABs is that they don’t have
any rules, period. I like to leave things open so that people can do their own
thing if they want and I don’t believe that people need to follow my rules. As you get to know me, you’ll learn that I’m
a pretty laid back person, except for when it comes to something/someone
putting their rules/restrictions on me. That will usually lead to a screaming
mi-mi. Anyway, (I ramble a lot, too, btw) we all managed to get down and dirty
with our ripping and gluing sides before the night was up and everyone starting
making plans for the beautiful and creative bits of art that their books will
become. I’m really excited for our next class. We’re going to bring
out the paint, the Vintage Milk Paint especially, and start working with color
and texture. I love, love, love color and texture!! I’ll update you
afterwards! Ciao, Ladies!
Love, Jessica
P.S.
