Christmas Advent Box Calendar

Tomorrow is December 1st, time to get out the advent calendar.  This one was made by altering a paper mache organizer from the Shoppe at Somerset.  The paper mache box is made to look like wood with Vintage Milk Paint and the drawers are made of little boxes, lined with vintage papers.  The drawers are numbered from 1 to 24 and can be filled with candies, silver charms, beads, or other small items.

In a previous post I mentioned that Jessica Powell would begin posting to this blog on September 1st.  Health issues have prevented her from beginning that assignment, but we look forward to hearing from her soon.

Wreathed In Smiles

This cute face came from, The Graphics Fairy.  The fabric and background were aged with Dirt, Vintage Milk Paint.  Sometimes a little dirt is all you need.

Great Little One

This beautiful verse is an excerpt from, A Hymn Sung as by the Shepherds, by Richard Crashaw.  I wanted to represent heaven and earth on this card . . . raffia and some dried flowers for the earth and an angel for heaven.   Turquoise, Vintage Milk Paint, was used to tint the music paper and painted on the border.  Attached is a PFD that includes sixteen of these angels, just the right size for making Christmas cards.  Enjoy!  Download angels.pdf

Every Time We Love

I enjoy mixing paper and fabric, which is what I did with this card.  You can find the quote on the new Christmas PDF, in the post just below this one.  The picture is from the Cats and Dogs ephemera sheet.  Everything was glued down first and then brushed with Ochre and Cinnabar, Vintage Milk Paint.   Then it was tied up with a ribbon, like a  little present.
