Altered Valentine Book

Here's an idea for the one you love on Valentines day, an altered valentine book.  This one is meant to include pictures of yourself, along with little notes to the recipient.

Love is . . .

Here's a very simple card made with one of the new valentine quotes in yesterday's post.  All you need is a piece of piano music, a valentine stamp, and some twine.  After everything was glued down, I aged the card with a wash of Ochre, Vintage Milk Paint.

Valentine Kit - Part Two

Since most relationships come in kits we have to put together, I decided a puzzle might be appropriate.  Here's the valentine puzzle and the little box to put it in.  Little notes or promises could be written on the backs of the puzzle pieces.

Valentines day is coming soon!  Yesterday I put together the outer box for a valentine kit and next week I'll post what I've put inside.  I painted layers of Vintage Milk Paint on a cardboard box and then lightly sanded through the top coat to make it look like distressed wood.

Remember when we made Valentine boxes to take to school and some kids covered theirs in foil?  Well, I never did that.   But, I decided to try it the other day.  I covered this valentine box lid with foil, aged it with some Vintage Milk Paint, transferred a quote onto foil with ITS solution, and put it all together with a fun little cupid charm.  A grown up version of the elementary school Valentine box.  All this my husband's idea . . . now I'll wait for him to put some Valentines in it.
